WHAT WE DO

Everymind strengthens communities and empowers individuals to reach optimal mental wellness.

EveryMind is not just a name, it is the beginning of a conversation – a conversation about the value and potential of every mind. Because every mind is important and needs attention, care, and support.

One in four people will deal with a mental health issue in their lifetime. That one person’s life impacts so many more – families, friends, co-workers, and neighbors to name just a few. We are committed to helping everyone recognize that taking care of one’s mental wellness is as important and necessary as taking care of one’s physical wellness. When one of us realizes optimal health, the entire community benefits.

Successful Stories

“You are a lifesaver, literally.”
Briana’s Story:

“What’s the point of it all? I can’t take it anymore,”
14-year-old Brianna told Hotline Specialist Jenna after learning her
boyfriend had cheated on her. She displayed suicidal ideation, reporting that she had felt depressed for some time. “I told my parents I was thinking of hurting myself, but they didn’t take me seriously.” Jenna worked with Brianna and suggested that she speak to the school counselor. Brianna later called back and reported that the school counselor and principal now play an active role in supporting her mental health. Brianna said “I feel much better after calling. I don’t know how I would have dealt with this if I hadn’t called. You are the first person I have ever felt really listened to me. I’m grateful for the work that you guys do. You are a lifesaver, literally.”

Successful Stories

“This is the Longest stint I’ve had living in my own place.”
Darren’s story:

Darren grew up in and out of homeless shelters without his family and he was often placed in foster care until the age of 18. Afterwards, Darren lived on
the street and in shelters. Darren entered EveryMind’s Housing Initiative
Program (HIP). Rising rental rates along with Darren’s personal struggles of substance use created barriers that impeded his ability to obtain affordable housing.

More than money, Darren was also given the opportunity to create
a space of his own. Thanks to a VisArts artwork donation, Darren was able to decorate the walls of his home. He told his case worker that, in the past, he had never decorated his living space with anything “pretty” or “permanent” because he never knew how soon he’d have to leave it. I can’t believe this is my permanent home. Is this what a life looks like when it’s actually being lived?”
